Let's Seek Transformation... Intentionally

As we change the page over from October to November on the calendar something truly transforms in the Crawford household. My husband and sons start to wear clothing that consist of ugly greens and browns; as if at any point they are ready to be thrown into a patch of woods, disguised amongst the trees hidden from the game they are hoping to sneak up on. Their topic of conversation goes from everyday talk, to turkey calls, tree stands, and the buck they are surely to find this year when hunting. Every free moment is reserved, intentionally, for early morning getaways in the freezing cold with nothing more than their sunflower seeds, a few bologna sandwiches, their hunting gun, and enough mountain dew for an army! The transformation causes happiness for all involved, the anticipation of what is to come, and for the ones of us not included; we can't help but wish we were able to take part. As I watched this transformation take over the Crawford household again this year I thought about the transformation God intends for each one of us to have in our lives with Him. Just like with my family's transformation, this transformation should be highly anticipated.

With Christ, we should start wearing the armor of God, so if we were to be thrown into any situation we would be ready! Our topics of conversations should be Christ, His love, and wanting to know Him more. Every day we should aim to spend time in conversation with our Maker, prepared with our Bible, our journals, and an empty mind and heart. In expectation for that moment we have been waiting for. For the ones around us without Jesus? They should be left scratching their heads, asking, “What  do they have that I don't? How do I get it?”  Transformation of heart and soul. That transformation will come with Christ.  John 4 is a beautiful testimony of true transformation. The Samaritan woman went from being someon e who didn't believe and no one wanted to be around to someone who was intentionally sought out by Jesus, v4 “ Now he had to go through Samaria.” and she then was the leader. v39 “ Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman's testimony.”  True transformation. Christ was intentional and we are to be like Christ. Are we transforming? Are we being intentional enough to transform our own lives? Are we walking like Christ did in other's lives and showing them Christ's love? Why not make transformation our day to day goal? Wasn't it Christ's?
