I am on the hunt again for Roanoke’s finest FAIVs. That is correct! The search for Fantastically Amazing Incredible Volunteers is still on and going strong. Every week working with the rest of the Acts 2 staff I come to realize just how crucial the size of this ministry truly is. The passion and heart that God has for the students of Roanoke is what makes the magnitude of this calling so great. For example, we understand that one need students have to fight in their everyday lives is hunger and nutrition. Recognizing that need is not enough, it is only half the battle. Feeding students and providing wholesome meals is an actual shot at meeting a need for the students. Being able to offer such a service requires a significant amount of committed and caring people.
Similarly, there are necessities that aid in the development of young people that we been able to identify here at Acts 2. God has given us the opportunity to peer into the lives of the students that are involved in Acts 2 and listen to their pleas. Students plead for attention, direction, love, and acceptance. We would love to lead them to a God who knows exactly how those needs play largely into our everyday lives. In order for us to help perform the call God placed before us, we need God fearing individual to join ranks with us.
So this is where we stand as of October 25, 2011. My prayer is that I am patient in God’s guidance as we at Acts 2 commit ourselves to his service.
Love, Peace, and Jesus,
-Njeri Hot HandZ Camphor-
Acts 2 Outreach Director
